Closer to the beginning of the month than I have been for getting my November 2018 empties post up! I am happy with the amount of product I have been able to get out of the bathroom. Do you find it satisfying to use up product? Or are you sad to see it go?
I had quite a few products that were close to being empty that I managed to finish up during the month of November, hence the large Trip Through My Trash! I also ended up with an eye infection and a stye in my eye so I had to switch out my mascaras earlier than normal. On to what I thought about the products I emptied during the past month.
There are a few usual empties used up but also a few new ones.
Kirkland Daily Facial Towelettes- Always in empties, I use them everyday. There really isn’t much else to say about them.
Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks- I actually liked these masks I got in a Boxy Charm. They felt really good on and didn’t slip around that much at all. They did help with de-puffing the under eye area, but like all masks the effect didn’t last longer than a day.
Fluffs Cotton Pads- Another repeat product that you will continue to see in empties for the foreseeable future!
Live Clean Fragrance Free Body Lotion- I won this body lotion in a blog giveaway, thanks Chelle From Makeup Your Mind! It was a great lotion to use in the Summer months when I don’t want anything to heavy feeling on. Im not sure it would be quite moisturizing enough throughout the winter months though.
Live Clean Bali Oil Nutri-Shine Shampoo- Another product from the above mentioned giveaway! I loved the smell of this shampoo, it isn’t to strong but does have a slight scent. It did a good job of cleansing my hair and leaving it feeling clean and soft.
B&BW Eucalyptus Mint Foaming Hand Soap- Another regular product in some scent or other. I always pick up these up during a sale.
B&BW Eucalyptus Mint Creamy Luxe Hand Soap- I picked up the Creamy Luxe hand soap to give it a try as sometimes the Foaming can feel slightly drying on my hands. I liked it but not so sure if the boys did or not.
Mac Pro Eye Makeup Remover- I had planned on doing a post on makeup removers and had gotten this one from Mac to try out. It was ok, it did the job of removing most of my eye makeup without to much tugging but it did have a bit more trouble with more waterproof makeup.
Calgon Ageless Bath Exfoliating Mineral Scrub- If you want to know my thoughts on this body scrub you can check out my post on it here. Needless to say I have already picked up another one!
Lancôme Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate- I got this serum when I was lucky enough to test out a bunch of products during the Elle Canada Grand Prix and just finally got around to using it up! I actually really liked it, I didn’t notice a huge difference in my skin but it did feel moisturizer and makeup went on great overtop of it.
Schick Intuition Razor Refill- My razor of choice for early morning showers where you don’t want to be messing around with extra products.
Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Repairing Mask- A deluxe sample that I am sure came from Sephora at some point! It is a very nice, moisturizing facial mask that is great during the cold, dry months of winter. I mostly used this up on my forehead as this year, I seem to be getting very dry there again. It has seemed to cut down on the flaking that I have been getting there.
My house smelled pretty good last month after having used up all these candles.
B&BW Wallflower in Island Reef- I really liked the scent on Island Reef. It isn’t a strong scent at all, just nice and light and did a great of making the basement smell great without traveling to far from there.
Yankee Candle Harvest- I really enjoyed the scent on this candle, it is actually quite cinnamon-y which I liked. The scent is a bit strong and will fill a room and linger afterwards.
Yankee Candle votives in Vanilla Lime, Summer Storm, Life’s A Beach, and Honey Lavender Gelato. I liked all of these scents, but I did find that all, except for Summer Storm, were more on the light smelling side. Summer Storm is a stronger scent of Eucalyptus and Patchouli as the main smell.
I was able to use up quite a few samples last month, I am really going to work on that for now. I have a fair sized plastic drawer system under my bathroom counter that is FULL of samples! I need to get to using those up to see if there is anything great in there. The only stand out in this bunch of samples was the Estee Lauder mascara. I really liked that one and would definitely consider getting a full size of it. It didn’t clump, smudge nor was it hard to remove! What more could you ask for in a mascara. I was hoping the Herbal Essence shampoo would be a replacement for the Pantene Weekly Detox shampoo that I can no longer find but sadly it isn’t. The Origins products were good, but nothing groundbreaking for me, I did really enjoy the citrus-y scent of them in the morning though. We were not a fan of the Deep Sleep Pillow Spray, it smelled kind of musty, needless to say we didn’t sleep better on the nights we used it.
Have you used up anything great in the past month? Anything that I need to know about, let me know!
