So close to being caught up! I am still not wearing much makeup, powder foundation, blush, and a little brow pencil, so I haven’t tried anything from my Boxy Charms but I will get what I received up so you can see what I did get.
The theme for the January Boxy Charm was ‘Boxy and Chill’, perfect for hibernating inside during what seems like the longest month of the year. For the month of January, it seems like Boxy Charm went back to the postcard for the product descriptions, so no #BoxyFact this month.
I received a great assortment of products to try out in my January ‘Boxy and Chill’ box. Products ranging from skincare, haircare, and makeup. A little something for everyone.
Briogeo - Roscaro Milk Reparative Leave-in Conditioning Spray - Effectively restore your hair’s softness, manageability, moisture and shine with Briogeo’s Roscaro Milk spray. Infused with the signature blend of ultra-nourishing reship, organ, and coconut oils-this spray works to detangle wet hair and protects against heat while locking in moisture, restoring muster and demising frizz. Retail $12.00 USD.
I still haven’t tried the last Briogeo leave-in I got from Boxy Charm. Am I the only one who hates having to many different products open at once? I am almost don’t with the leave-in conditioner that I am using now and will probably break out one of these next.
OFRA - Long Lasting Lipstick in Miami Heat - This matte liquid lipstick delivers long-lasting colour that perfectly outlines and fills in lips. The stunning pigments stay put all day with minimal transfer, while maintaining a comfortable wear. Infused with vitamin A and antioxidants, your lips will look and feel healthy all day. Retail $20.00 USD.
Once again with a lip product that is a tad out of my comfort zone. Boxy Charm has a survey that they have said they will start using in March, I hope that is true! Maybe than I will get some shades that will be something I will actually feel comfortable wearing outside of the house! Miami Fever is a fairly deep burnt orange that may be better suited for me in the summer?
Tarte - Limited Edition Rainforest Of The Sea Highlighting Eyeshadow Palette Vol III - Dive into this vegan, crease-free eyeshadow palette that features seven highly reflective plush michoshimmers, and one matte nude that serves as the perfect transition shade. This bendable and longer formula is enriched with vitamin E and antioxidants, helping to hydrate and protect the lids. Retail $36.00 USD.
I enjoyed the last round Tarte palette I got from Boxy Charm, and am hoping to like this one as well. This one has only 1 matte though, Tiki, I hope that it works well for a transition shade. The rest of the shades have shimmer and I am not one to put that anywhere else besides on the lid.
The shades in the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Vol III palette are - Tiki (matte beige), Heat Wave (pink luster), Malibu (plum bronze), Rays (peachy copper), Compass (champagne), Jewel (copper), Treasure (pearlescent), and Escape (nude pink luster).
The shades in this Tarte palette, to me, seem like great ones for very quick and easy eye looks as long as Tiki works for a transition shade that is. All the shades swatched well, hopefully they apply well to the eye.
Tatcha - Luminous Dewy Skin Face Mask (2 pack) - Nourish skin from within using this lightweight blend of rice germ oil, vitamin E, essential fatty acids and highly concentrated botanical oils and extracts. Each mask is designed for maximum absorption, delivering 20 mL of skin-quenching serum and imparting an instant dewy, luminous glow. A scientifically perfected trio of fermented Japanese anti-aging superfoods like green tea, rice and algae instantly restore skin’s health and radiance. Retail $24.00 USD.
I have not tried anything else from Tatcha so I am looking forward to giving these masks a try. I have seen that a lot of other people have been draining the extra essence from this mask into a separate bottle and using that as a serum which seems like a good idea. I picked up some glass dropper bottles from Amazon so I will probably give that a try when I try out the mask. 20mL of serum in a sheet mask seems like a lot of extra, thats over half an ounce.
Billion Dollar Brows - Universal Brow Pencil - Specially and carefully formulated to work perfectly with most skin tones and brow collars, this self-sharpening pencil glides onto your brows without tugging or pulling your skin. The spoolie at the end makes for easy blending and the smooth and creamy formula makes for easy application. Retail $18.00 USD.
I am not in need of a brow pencil at the moment, but will eventually try this one out. I get that a lot of companies seem to like doing a ‘universal’ brow pencil but am not sure how that works in practise. I find that for my light brown brows I can usually get away with it, but wonder about people on either end of the spectrum; blonde or black, if they really do match them?
My January ‘Boxy and Chill’ box had a retail value of $110.00 USD, which is great. As per usual, well worth the $35ish CAD that I pay for it. It came with products that covered a wide range of beauty, something for everyone. I still unfortunately am not wearing eye makeup and only doing a very minimal skincare routine due to the fact that I am worried about getting anything in my eyes, still have a stitch in one eye, so once again I will have to hold off on using most of the products I received. I am going to be so busy trying everything out once I start getting back to normal!
