Sorry for the late posting this week! I have been so busy lately with trying to get so much done in a short amount of time. I was orginally gong to use an OPI polish for this week but my sister asked if I would take her to CosmoProf to pick up a Peanut hair trimmer for her son and well you can probably guess what happened! I saw that they had a set for CND Vinylux that included mini ScrubFresh as well as a nail color and the top coat. I figured I might as well pick it up and give it a try! I also picked up a polish from the new 'Aurora Collection' called 'Winter Glow' which is the polish I am trying out this week.
CND Vinylux is supposed to be a 'Weekly Polish' when used with the 'Weekly Top Coat'. There is no base coat or special light needed to cure it and it is supposed to be able to be removed with normal nail polish remover. I will let you know on both accounts at the end of the week. I am quite interested to see if it can hold up to a week of being off and working on walls and such!
'Winter Glow' is a very soft pastel pink that I love (and that my sister said was definietly a me color!)! I had read that you needed to apply this type of polish in 2 thin coats, but I think I took that to literally. It went on fairly streaky and I was thinking oh crap this looks like sh!t. So I did end up using 3 thin coats to get rid of the streaks and bring it to this level of opacaity. I think the next time I use this polish I may apply it a tad bit thicker.
Last weeks nails did not hold up the best at all. I will say in defense of the Essence nail polish that I did do quite a bit of mudding and sanding, which entailed scrubbing to get the mud off of my hands! I really liked the color for this time of year as well. Maybe I will give it another try with a deferent top coat.
I have to tell you that I really did not like the Julep top coat at all. I don't know if my bottle was old or what but it got really thick real quick. I also noticed that my nail polish had a few cracks in it, have you ever had that before? It is almost unusable now and I have only used it for a few weeks, and I only put my top coat on once when I do my nails. Have you tried the Julep top coat? Did you have an issues with it getting thick?
