When I recieved an email from BzzzAgent saying that I was lucky enough to be choosen for the Covergirl truBLEND foundation campaign, I was slightly hesitant to sign up. The last time I remeber using Covergirl Foundation was not a great experience. It was probably about 10-15 years ago that I last tried Covergirl foundation and all I remebered about it was that it smelled like medicine and it made me break out! But in the interest of trying out different products for Sandie's Stash I thought I would give it a try. There were 5 Covergirl Foundations to choose from - Covergirl Clean Oil Control, truBlend Liquid, Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless, COvergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1, and Covergirl Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation. I had originally wanted to try out the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation, but they didn't have it in my shade. So than I decided to choose but what was left in my shade and that was the Covergirl truBlend. The shade I recieved is i5-Creamy Natural, which is a pretty good match for me, a tad to pink but it blends in well.
What Covergirl says about truBLEND - blends seamlessly for a flawless look. Available in 14 shades, the foundation perfectly matches 98% of skin tones, providing light to medium coverage that blends in and virtually disappears. truBLEND features a new shade matching system. To find your perfect blend first determine your shade family. Second, choose your number.
When I first saw the color of the Covergirl truBLEND foundation I thought it would be to pink for me. It seemed quite pink and I tend to lean slightly yellow to neutral. I was quite happy that when i applied it to my face it just seemed to blend in perfectly! The Covergirl truBLEND Liquid foundation gave me a light to medium coverage that lasted about 6 hours before the oils on my nose started to break it up. Even than, it still looked good after I blotted and I didn't feel like I needed to touch up at the end of the 12hr day. Mind you it had mostly wore off of my nose but the shade blended in so well that you had to look really close up to see that I no longer had anything left on my nose! TruBLEND also did not give me the dreaded pokadot face, it didn't sink into pores at all! Everywhere else on my face the foundation lasted great, barely any fading.
I can see this being a great drugstore foundation for people with normal, even combonation skin. If you are looking for a drugstore foundation that can last and have normal-combo skin I think you could do worse than trying out the new Covergirl truBLEND foundation.
