I picked up the Essie Limited Edition nail set during a Bonus Redemption weekend recently at Shoppers Drug Mart. The set retails for $17.99 CAD regularily but I got it for free! I have never tried any Essie mini polishes before and figured it would be a good time to do so as I didn't have any of the shades in the set. The Essie Holiday Limited Edition nail polish set includes 5, 5 mL in size, shades of mini polish in a shiney silver package. All of the 5 included shades are available seperately and are part of Essie's regular line-up of polishes.
In the Essie Limited Edition set you get Ballet Slippers, A-List, Cocktail Bling, Mind Your Mittens and Rock At The Top.
Ballet Slippers - sheer pale pink - Ballet Slippers is definitely a pale pink sheer, I used 3 coats to get it fully opaque with no streaks. I can see why Ballet Slippers is a favorite, I think it would look great on a variety of skin tones.
A-List - classic red creme - A-list is definietly a classic true red, I almost could have gotten away with one coat but did the usual 2. I have been looking for a true red and A-List from Essie is very close.
Cocktail Bling - greyish blue - I love colors like Cocktail Bling, they are easy to wear and are very close to being neutrals. It is having color but not scream in your face color.
Mind Your Mittens - light blue grey with slight silver shimmer - This is a polish that a few years ago was mixed up with Parka perfect. I am still not sure, after checking various sites, which is supposed to be which! This is another favorite shade for me, I just love somewhat greyed out polishes on my skintone. They seem to make most colors more wearable to me.
Rock At The Top - Multi-sized gold glitter - Who doesn't love glitter?! I tried this one over 2 colors as well as alone. There is a lot of glitter in this one and 1 coat over any other shade gives you a lot of glitter!
I really like all of the colors in the Essie Limited Edition nail polish set. It has 5 classic Essie Nail Polish colors that are a part of the regular line. If you don't have any of the shades included in the kit, or want to give it as a gift for a nail polish lover, I don't think you can go wrong with this set. The formula and brush are both great. I am glad I picked up this set as I personally didn't have any of the shades and have been interested in trying out more of the Essie line.
Have you tried any of these classic Essie nail polish colors? Which is your favorite?
