With the last few days left of 2015 I thought it would be fitting to do a simple NYE nail. We are supposed to finally get some snow today, of course now is when I am not a huge fan of snow. We had a very wet, green Christmas in Southern Ontario. Did you have a white or green Christmas?
For my simple NYE Nails I only used 2 polishes, not including base and top coat. The 2 I decided on using were Morgan Taylor 'Pumps or Cowboy Boots?' and Venique 'Jolly Holly Twinkle'. The Morgan Taylor polish, 'Pumps or Cowboy Booots?', came form the 'Honky Tonk Honeys' set I picked up in October, you can see this and the other polishes in the set here. The Venique polish was a gift from a friend a few years ago, from the 2012 Holiday collection. I wanted something a little bit festive but not over the top as I am working quite a few days this week and I was doing my nails on the Monday and NYE is still half a week away.
I first painted my nails with 2 coats of Morgan Taylor 'Pumps or Cowboy Boots?'. Once those 2 coats were dried I than tried to use reinforcements but that didn't work out the greatest so I than found that I had some nails stickers that are supposed to be used to do a French Manicure and they worked out great. The nail stickers had a very slight curve to them compared to the reinforcements. I did a fairly thick coat of the Venique polish, 'Jolly Holly Twinkle', on the side of my nails and than took off the stickers before the polish dried.
I really liked how this Simple NYE nail look turned out. To me it is a very simple to do, but looks like more than 1 color. It has just the right amount of sparkle without being boring.
Last weeks Santa Suit and Presents nail art lasted pretty good until Christmas day. With all the chopping, cooking, and handwashing that happened it started to chip as well as I chipped a few of my nails in the process. I recieved quite a few compliments on the nail art though! I hope you had a great Christmas, if you celebrate, and a great NYE!
