Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette - Review and Swatches!

I am sorry if you are getting tired of seeing and hearing about the new Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani eyeshadow palette by now but I figured I would throw my two cents out there in case anyone is interested!  My sister picked up the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani palette during last weeks Bonus Redemption Day at Shoppers Drug Mart.  When we were heading out to Shoppers Drug Mart on Saturday it was the only thing she was really wanting.  She was so excited that it was available in store already!  She picked it up right away and put it in her basket!  I was so tempted to pick it up but I already have so many palettes and it wasn't on my list at the time.  I will have a post up shortly of what I picked up during Black Friday and for the Shoppers Bonus Redemption Day that were both on the same weekend!  My sister is such a great supporter of my little space on the internet and me and said I could try it out and do a review for Sandie's Stash before she even got to use it!  It may have helped that she is doing overnights through the week so she isn't wearing makeup atm!  So huge Thank You to my sister!

In the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani palette you get 15 eyeshadows ranging form matte to shimmer.  Of the 15 eyeshadow shades, 3 are in the permanent line (Blackout, Skimp and Stark) and 12 are brand new.  There are quite a few pale shades in the palette, but that is part of the reason why I like this palette.  There are also a few pops of color as well as a perfect shadow blending shade!  Also a few darker color that are great for darkening up the crease or using as a liner.  When I first saw the palette I was worried that the pale shades would all look the same, I am happy to say I was wrong.  They may look similar but they really are all different.

Here are some swatches of the shadows in the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani palette -

Swatches of Blonde, Baby and Pop.

Swatches of Blonde, Baby and Pop.

Blonde pale beige/pink iridescent shift - I don't see a lot of the pick shift but a beautiful hi light shade.

Baby - cool metallic rose - Great lid/hi light shade

Pop -  pale coral with iridescent sparkle - this one was a little chunky for me and had some fall out.

Swatches of Bathwater, Anaheim and Harajuku.

Swatches of Bathwater, Anaheim and Harajuku.

Bathwater pale beige with gold pearl - this one has beautiful shimmer to it.

Anaheim - light taupe-brown matte - great crese blending shade.

Harajuku - metallic blue-pink/iridescent micro-shimmer - this one wasn't as pigmented as I would have liked, fairly pale.

Swatches of Skimp, Stark and Danger.

Swatches of Skimp, Stark and Danger.

SkimpPale nude satin (permanent)- I used this one as a brow bone hilight, not a lot of shimmer just shine!

Starknude-pink matte (permanent) - is a perfect blending shade for me, it is almost skin tone color for me.

Dangerdeep metallic royal blue/blue micro-sparkle - this one surprised me with how pigmented it is, great for a pop of color or as a liner.

Swatches of Steady, Zone and 1987.

Swatches of Steady, Zone and 1987.

Steady - medium rose/metallic gold shift - great mid-tone lid shade with just enough sparkle to catch the light.

Zonemedium brown matte - great matte crease color that blends wonderfully.

1987bright metallic yellow-gold - great for adding a bit more sparkle/shine to the center of your lid.

Swatches of Punk, Serious and Blackout.

Swatches of Punk, Serious and Blackout.

Punk reddish brown matte - great for darking up the outer v or as a liner.

Serious - smoky gray with iridescent floating pearl - I didn't really notice much of the 'pearl' effect when I wore this but great shade nontheless!

Blackoutblackest black matte (permanent)- what can you say about Urban Decays matte black? it is as good as it gets!  great for lining or darkening up!

When I used this palette this past week I used Stark (blending shade), Baby (lid) and Anaheim (crease).  Next I used Stark (blending shade), Steady (Lid), Punk (crease and liner).  I also did a look with Stark (blending shade), Harajuku (lid), and Serious (crease).  I really like Stark for a blending shade on my skintone, its a great match for me.  As you can tell I am a neutral lover but I am trying to step out of my comfort zone, slowly!  All the colors I used blended beautifully as per usual with Urban Decay shadows.

The Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette is a pale neutral girl lovers dream palette.  It retails on Sephora.ca for $70 + tax, which isn't bad considering you are getting 15 eyeshadows that are a fairly good size!  The colors, for the most part, are all wonderfully pigmented and blend like a dream.  The only shadow that was the least bit dissapointing was Pop, and it just took a little building to get good pigmentation.  But I wouldn't expect much less from Urban Decay!
