I swear I don't usually buy this many polish sets! But I have been looking for a nice grey....
So I was in CosmoProf the other day and these sets where at the front of the store. They were 13.95 each which was a great deal. So of course it came home with me so I could hopefully find a great grey. Which I did! I tryed all of them and I have to say most were not up to Opi standards in my opinion. But there where a couple that I felll in love with.
Here are swatches of them all in sets of twos.
Dark Side of the Mood-This brooding, stormy charcoal is dangerously gorgeous.
I likes this color but it took 3 coats to get this level of opacity.
My Silk Tie-This silky, gleaming silver has got me all tied up.
This also took 3 coats, there are better silvers out there.
Embrace the Gray-Let this chic, moody gray creme become one with you.
This was again 3 coats.
Romantically Involved-I'm in a deep relationship with this lucious creme red.
Unfortunately 3 coats. But it is a nice true red.
By this time I was getting quite disappointed in the set, unti I treid the next one
Cement the Deal-I'd sign anything to get my hands on this stormy, cool grey.
I LOVED this one! This is only 2 coats and I probably could have gotten away with only 1. I went back and bought the full size of this one right away.
Shine For Me-This shimmering silver with subtle blue sparkle really turns me on.
This is 1 coat over Cement The Deal. I was going to get a full size of this one but I have quite a few glitters already and figured that the small size would be enough for me.
There are my thoughts on the 50 Shades of Grey mini set. I found a great one that I liked without having to buy all full sizes. I really like mini sets for just this reason, they are a great price to try out the colors and for you to decide if you want to invest in the full size. It gives you the chance to see if the colors work for you and how they apply. I personally hate it when I have to do more than 2 coats at a time. I used Nail Envy and Formula X base coat under all the swatches.
I hope that you enjoyed my little review of this set and I promise to do something other than nail polish time!
