My sister was actually the one who picked this up but she let me 'borrow' it to review it after she had had it for a week. She said she loved it and that I had to try it out. She was so right! This is an all matte neutral eye shadow palette. This is a beautiful palette, the colors may be neutral but they are not boring. They are all very pigmented and fairly easy to blend. They do kick up some powder but nothing a little blow and tap won't fix! I have worn each 'quad' on different days and I was actually surprised at how pigmented they all were. Inside there are 'tutorials' on how to do different looks with the palette, like how to define, lift, and balance eyes. As well as natural and smokey looks. The colors in each quad all go well with each other and make a very nice put together eye look. I didn't get a chance to play with mixing up the colors as my sister wanted her palette back sooner rather than later. All the looks I put together lasted through my 12+ hour days with my usual mix of Urban Decay Anti Age Primer Potion and Mac Painterly Paint Pot. I did try them without primer and they lasted about 5 hours before fading on oily lids. I'm not sure what I was expecting but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by this palette. I was not expecting this to be this good!
The shades in each quad are:
Neutral quad - Laetus, a creamy nude color(Base); Samual a dusty fawn (Contour); Solas, espresso brown (Define); and Lucius a soft beige (Highlight).
Cool quad - Lazarus a cool taupe (Base); Saleos a smoky brown (Contour); Shax jet black (Define); and Liberatus a pinkish ivory (Highlight).
