I love using dry shampoo on the early morning wake-up calls on work days. When you get up at 5 am you really don't feel like doing much with your hair! I usually wash my hair the first day and than use dry shampoo the next day if I think I can get away with it , ie I haven't gotten much face cream in it from the night before! I have so far tried out 5 different brands of dry shampoo and feel like I can give you my opinion on them now.
Here is the line up of the ones I have tried, starting with my least favorite.
Herbal Essence Body Envy Instant Clean
I'll start with what I did like about this product, I loved the smell of this dry shampoo. The scent was very fresh and clean smelling. When I used this it seemed to make my hair look and feel dirtier than when before I sprayed it in. It left my roots looking and feeling like a greasy mess. I tried this one out quite a few times as like I said I really like the smell of it, but each time I used it I had to either put my hair in a ponytail or jump back in the shower if it looked really bad.
Quantum ST Refresher Invisible Dry Shampoo
I was in CosmoProf and this dry shampoo was on special for buy 1 get 1 free so my sister and I figured we would give it a try. This is another one that left my hair looking worse than when I started out! It is 'Invisible', I will give it that but it left my hair feeling and looking greasy as well. It did have a nice fresh scent though! It seemed to be a really wet dry shampoo, which to me is the opposite of what I want, I use dry shampoo so I don't have to blow dry my hair!
Dove Refresh+Care Invigorating Dry Shampoo
The scent on this one was OK, a little powdery smelling though. When I used this dry shampoo it takes quite a bit of brushing/rubbing in to get rid of the white cast that it leaves. It also seems to make my scalp feel really dry and itchy. It does give quite a bit of body though.
Pantene Pro-V Original Fresh Dry Shampoo
This is a great dry shampoo at a great price point. I really liked this dry shampoo, it did what it was supposed to do. Has a nice fresh scent, absorbs oil, and doesn't leave a white cast! My only issue with this dry shampoo is that I have now gotten 2 bottles of it and the sprayer stops working when there is still half a can left! I have tried everything to unclog the nozzle but there doesn't seem to be anything wrong the nozzle it seems like there just isn't enough propellant? in the can to fully use it up.
Batiste Dry Shampoo
There is a reason so many people swear by this brand, it does what its supposed to do! This is so far my favorite dry shampoo that I have tried. You can get it in quite a few different scents, from floral to fruity. I have seen that you can get this is one that is made specifically for dark hair so you don't get the white cast but I have not been able to find it any of my local drugstores/Walmart. I would love to give the dark one a try as the only bad thing about Batiste is working in the white cast. It is a lot easier than some of the others though!
Those are my thoughts on the dry shampoos that I have tried out so far. I have been told that Amika and Co Lab are both great dry shampoos and I may pick them up when I run out of my back ups. Do you have any recommendations for another brand of dry shampoo? I am always open to trying out other brands!
