It has been a really hot sticky week here in Southern Ontario, but I am not complaining! It has in the middle to high 30s, plus humidity, this past week almost every day, glad I have central air! We got a pretty got rain storm last night and that really cooled it off. I of course slept through it again.
I haven't used a NYC polish in quite some time for a NoTW so decided to use one this week. I wanted something pink for this week so I picked 'Upper West Side'. When I was first putting NYC 'Upper West Side', I thought great this is going to take way to many coats as it went on very sheer. Than I thought I would try to do a 'Jelly Sandwich' manicure. I wanted something a little different from the regular dots and such so I decided to do layers of dotticure flowers.
I first started out with my base coat, Sephora Formula X as usual. I than did a couple of flowers, once that was dry I put a coat of NYC In A Minute 'Upper West Side'. Than another few flowers, followed by my polish. I still didn't have the level of opacity that I wanted so decided to one more layer. I still would have liked it a touch more opaque but I did not want to do 4 coats, 3 is my limit! I really like how this turned out, it looks like I used more than 2 polishes. I don't think it turned out to bad, I can still see a bit of my nail line but you do have to look closely to see it.
Last weeks NoTW, Nails Inc, lasted great! I was impressed with how the polish wore, barely any tip wear at all. Sadly I don't think I let my polish well enough before putting on my nail stickers as even with the top coat over top they started to lift on Tuesday and were completely off by Wednesday. I don't think I pushed them hard enough on my nail and so I probably had air under there. I was left with the outline of the Dragonfly though, which was kind of different. You could see it in certain light. I would definitely get more Nails Inc polish and am looking forward to trying out the other 2 that I have in the fall.
I hope you have a great Civic Day (if you are in Canada) and a great short work week!
