So I thought it was time to post an update on how I am doing on my Finish 5 By Fall project that I started with some other members of the Canadian Beauty Bloggers. This is my first time doing a challenge and I have to say it has so far taught me quite alot! It made me realize why I hadn't actually touched some of the products that are a part of my Finish 5. I have not actually given up on anything yet as I am still trying to figure out a way to use them that I can live with. I hate giving up on things and I would feel like I threw money in the garbage if I knew I didn't try everything I could to use these things up.
Left side is at the start of the Challenge and Right side is now.
I have made a few dents in these products, but I have to say I was expecting more.
Urban Decay Naked Skin in 4.0 - I have started mixing this with Mac Face and Body which is to light for me right now. I do like this foundation it is just to dark and since I am 'embracing the paste this year I don't see me getting dark enough to use this on its own.
Sephora Clear Brow Gel - I use this everyday that I wear any make up! This was one of the products I thought for sure I would be able to finish. I use this brow gel everyday I wear makeup.
Stila Lip Glaze in Orchid - I now know why I haven't used this in forever! It is full of glitter and that is not a look I am going for! I will still try to make this work somehow, maybe lightly over the lip liner? Any ideas on this one?
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Naked - I have rediscovered this lip liner! I have no clue as to why I stopped using this one? It is very soft and smooth but doesn't bleed or go where it's not supposed to go and I love the color! I have been using this lip liner under everything and I love it! I thought I had done better on using it up though.
Eve Pearl Dual Salmon Concealer in Fair/Light - I have made the biggest dent in this product. It is one of the ones I thought I would have no trouble finishing up the corrector side. I do not like the concealer side of this at all. The shade light seems to light for any blemishes I get and it is way to thick to use on my under eyes, I did try it and it creased horribly! I looked so old that day!
Now on to the products I wanted to hit 'pan' on.
Once again left side is at the beginning and right is now.
I am quite impressed at how well I have done on two of these products! Maybe I should have put them in the actual Finish 5 By Fall!
Revlon Photoready Eye Primer + Brightener - I have not even touched this since I took the first picture. I completely forgot about it. I will start trying it out now that I am reminded of it. Hopefully by the end I will at least have made a dent in it.
Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer in 010 Ivory - I now know why this has been sitting in a drawer for I don't even know how long. I am not a fan of this concealer at all. I find it creases under my eyes no matter what I do. I have to say that it does have lasting power though! Anywhere but under my eyes if I use this my other makeup may fade but not this concealer! I just wish it didn't crease. I was thinking on maybe trying to mix it with the Urban Decay and see what happens?
Stila Convertible Color in Peony - I have used this as a cheek color most days. I find that on it's own it doesn't last for my 12 hour day at work, it sticks around for probably 6-8 hours. Which really isn't bad if you work a regular work day. I have noticed that when I top it with any other blush it really helps with the lasting power of anything else. I found that applying this with a dual fibre brush was the best way and than I lightly tap it in.
Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium Plus - I use this powder everyday and I think I have hit pan! If you look closely at the top of it in the picture I think thats pan! I use this as an all over finishing powder to make sure everything is blended after I am done and before I use a setting spray.
Benefit Hoola - I have hit pan! I was so excited to see pan on this bronzer! I use this to 'contour' my cheeks a little everyday and sometimes around the perimeter of my face as well. I wonder how much longer this will last? I think I may try a different bronzer after this one is done, because 2 years with the same product is along time! Any recommendations for a new one?
So that is now I have been doing on my Finish 5 By Fall plus my extra 5. I am glad I am doing this challenge as it has reminded my of a few products that I actually really like and a few that I now remember why I didn't. How are you doing on your challenges? Let me know! Inquiring minds want to know.
