I had not really heard to much about THEFACESHOP before I received a surprise package in the mail a few weeks ago from them. Inside the package I received the Mango Seed Cleansing Butter ($14.00 CAD) and the Mung Bean Face Mask ($2.00 CAD). I am happy that THEFACESHOP gave me the opportunity to try out a few of their products.
I have been using the Mango Seed Cleansing Butter for a few weeks now and feel like I can give you my opinion on it.
What THEFACESHOP says about Mango Seed Cleansing Butter - The Cleansing Butter dissolves makeup and removes impurities as its mango seed extract moisturizes and nourishes skin. Directions: Apply the butter over your entire face and gently massage until makeup is completely dissolved. Wipe off excess cream with a tissue and wash your face with a foaming cleanser.
First off can I say how good this smells?! It isn't overpowering but you can smell the Mango. I have been using it as per the directions and it really works well at removing my makeup at night before I use my Clarisonic. I tend to dab some on my forehead, cheeks, nose and chin and than gently massage this all over my face and than wipe it off with one of my favourite face wipes (Kirkland Facial Wipes). My face doesn't feel tight or dry after I wipe this off at all. I do use a separate eye makeup remover. I than use my Clarisonic, as always with Purity Facial Cleanser, and I have noticed a lot less makeup on the brush head after I am done. I used to just use the makeup wipe and than my Clarisonic and my brush head was always fairly dirty afterword. I am glad that The Face Shop sent me this product as I have not used a makeup remover before, but it has now become a part of my nightly skincare routine. I have not broken out nor noticed any negative signs from using this.
What THEFACESHOP says about the Mung Bean Face Mask: The Mung Bean Real Nature Face Mask leaves the skin clear and radiant. In just a couple of minutes, it helps eliminate impurities that clog your pores, to leave your skin dazzling. Contains One sheet mask.
First off, I never used a sheet mask before! I always tend to gravitate toward the ones that come in tubes/pots. When I put this mask on it felt kind of slimy and cool, but not in a bad way. I kept it on for 15 minutes and than took the sheet off and patted in the rest. It seemed ok, a little sticky though, even 15 minutes later. I didn't really like that feeling so I decided to wash my face and continue with my regular routine. I didn't notice a difference from using this mask but it was interesting to try out a sheet mask.
This was my first time using this type of mask, and I have to say I am not so sure about sheet masks! It didn't seem to fit my face very well especially between my mouth and nose. The eye holes weren't wide enough either. I think it may be safe to say that I will stick to my brush on masks!
I am going to head into my local THEFACESHOP store and check out a few other products that I find interesting, Chia Seed Undereye Circle & Age Spot Serum for one, once my no/low buy is over. You can find The Face Shop either online at THEFACESHOP or check your local mall, I found one in Masonville mall in London.
