Since I had finally cut my hair to donate, which was something I really wanted to do, I have gotten back to trying out different things with my hair. I decided that I really liked the ombre/balage hair colour that I have been seeing quite a bit of lately. Seeing as I have never been very afraid of doing much with my hair I decided to give my sister a quick lesson on how to do it and give it a shot! The way I looked at it, if I didn't like it I could always cut it or colour it back. She did a great job on the colour but it seemed a touch to brassy to me. When I received the email from CBB asking if anyone wanted to try out a few hair products I jumped at the chance! I chose as one of my products the Pro:Voke Touch of Silver Shampoo. The instructions say to use the shampoo twice a week to cut down on yellow undertones. This shampoo works on the basic principal of colour theory, the general rule is that opposing colours on the colour wheel neutralize each other. So with that in mind if you have yellow/brassy colour than use a purple shampoo/toner to counteract that.
When you squeeze this out of the bottle it is a deep purple colour, it has a lot of pigment in it. I was wondering if this was going to stain my hands like the professional ones I used to use in the salon. Luckily it didn't and this did just as good if not better job than the ones I used to use! You need to use only the smallest amount, about the size of a quarter, of product to get a good lather. I usually use this after I have used a clarifying shampoo and it is doing a great job. My hair feels soft and the yellow undertone is gone! Without the yellow it seems lighter to.
