I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year! I had a wonderfully quiet one, watched some TV with my hubby after work last night. Today we went to see Star Wars with our son and my sister and her hubby! It was a great movie, I haven't been to the theatre in forever! Love the new seating in the Landmark Theatre, power recliners.
I have also been working at organizing all my stuff for reviews, posts, etc. I realized that I may have a little problem when it comes to shopping for beauty products! I seem to have amassed quite the stockpile of products that I bought with great intentions of reviewing them for you all, than promptly forgot about them. So expect to see quite a few reviews this upcoming year here on Sandie's Stash. So with that in mind I decided that I am going to attempt a Low-Buy for 2016.
The 'Rules' for my Low-Buy 2016 are-
Janruary-March - $75 per month
April - $150 - To account for the annual VIB sale
May-September - $75 per month
October-December - $150 per month - To account for Holiday sets, Black Friday, and Boxing Week Sales.
Imats - an extra $150 during that month, I am not sure if it will be in September or November this year.
This may seem like a lot but I did try last year to put myself on a budget of $50 a month and that didn't work out as well as I had hoped. Most of the products I was wanting were over the $50 mark. So hopefully this is a budget I can stick with. I am not sure about counting SHopper's Drug Mart redemption though, to me that isn't quite like money! It like bonus bucks or something, right? What do you think? Should that be counted in my budget?
Since 1 thing I noticed I seem to have an overabundance of is eyeshadow palettes I am going to be very strick with this category and only allow myself to buy 2 for the year. Hopefully this will make me really look into whether or not I already have the shades or very similiar before I buy another one. If a value set contains eyeshadow though that doesn't count! I am talking full on eyeshadow palettes, like the Nakeds, Chocolate Bar palettes, etc.
I am going to get through my samples pile!
I am going to go to the gym at least 3x a week.
I am going to use a mask at least 2x a week.
Post at least 3x a week.
Whew! That's a tall order to get through this year! My hours at work are drastically changing starting next week so I figured it would be a good time to start fresh. I will be a regular Monday-Friday person! What do people do when they don't have to work weekends? Holidays? And are home every night before dinner?! I won't be working 12 hour days anymore, only 8 hours. Such a huge change, I may even find that some makeup products that couldn't cut it for the 13 hours I needed, that I actually like!
What are your Goals for 2016? Do you have any major changes happening? Let me know in the comments!
