This past weekend, February 13-14, Shopper's Drug Mart had a Bonus Redemption Event on beauty products. I had enough points to redeem for the top tier, 95 000 points for $200 off beauty purchases, and was planning on spending all the points! A Shopper's redemption doesn't count toward a Low-Buy, right? I didn't spend money out of my pocket! The only thing I went in specifically for was the new Smashbox Insta-Matte Lipstick Transformer. I had told my sister I would get her her choice of the Urban Decay xGwen Stefani Lipsticks that recently came out, I figured it was the least I could do since she lets me borrow her products that she picks up so I can give you guys a look at them!
We quickly found the Smashbox section and picked up the Insta-Matte ($26.00 CAD) right away. We than headed over to the Urban Decay section and my sister picked out Ex-Girlfriend ($21.00 CAD) from the Gwen Stefani colab. We were wondering around the Beauty Department in Shopper's and I just wasn't finding anything I really wanted to try, shocking I know! We ended up in the Clarins section and I saw that they had the Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in 01 ($25.00) so I decided to give that a go. It was definietly turning into a lip trip! I than figured I might as well try a lipstick from a brand I had never tried anything from before. At the Lise Waiter section there was a rep there so I asked her for a recommendation of a nudey-pink in a formula that would be comfortable. She showed me a couple and than showed me 'Sandra' in the Rouge Fondant Suprême formula ($26.00 CAD), as soon as I saw the name and colour I was sold. This was the first time I found a lipstick with my name on it, in a colour I would wear! I had been looking for a false lash applicator, thinking that maybe I would like to give them a try and happened to find one by Bourjois. The price was right at $10.00, I didn't want to spend alot on something I am not even sure I will use!
We continued wondering around for awhile, looking for Essie Starry Starry Night but that was the only shade form the collection that they didn't have and it was the only one I am interested in. Than I got an idea to try some products from NYX since it just started being available in Shopper's but the display was very picked over and there wasn't anything left in my shade or a colour that I would feel comfortable wearing. I ended up only using 50 000 for $100 off this time, but thats ok. It means that I may have enough points to do a big redemption the next time it rolls around!
My sister and husband were shocked that I didn't use the whole 95 000 points but with having put myself on a low-buy and only allowing myself 2 eye shadow palettes for the year, there just wasn't much there! I am trying to get through and review the products I seem to have been stockpiling last year, including a butt load of foundations! I almost bought another foundation but than realized the amount I had at home....so I didn't end up picking up any. It was the same with most things I was looking at.
So I hope you are interestd in finalling starting to get some reviews on all those hauls I did last year! I will give you more information on the products I did pick up once I get a chance to use them!
Did you redeem any points during the Beauty Bonus Redemption weekend at Shopper's? What did you end up picking up?
