I knew my sister would be picking up the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Blush Palette as soon as we saw the sneak peeks of it. Lucky for me, I was right! And being a nice sister she let me try it out to review here for you guys. The Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Blush Palette retails for $60 CAD on the Sephora website and in stores.
What Sephora says about the palette - Get Gwen Stefani’s glowing, contoured skin with this Blush Palette. Inspired by her best defining and highlighting, tricks, Urban Decay and Stefani came together to create her perfect blush palette. Sweep on sculpted, radiant skin with these six shades of blush, bronzer, and highlighter that are versatile enough for any skintone. Urban Decay’s own easily blendable, finelymilled Afterglow formula goes on sheer and provides eight long hours of wearable, streak-free color. Lightweight and chic, it leaves a soft, creamy texture that always applies beautifully.
The Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Blush Palette looks like the eyeshadow palette I gave you a peek at here, with the difference in the outside packaging being that the blush palette design is white whereas the eyeshadow palette is black. Other than that they are pretty much identical looking on the outside. The palette feels fairly substaintal, heavy almost when you pick it up. Inside the palette you get the same large mirror with the words 'Magic Is In The Makeup' on the lower righthand corner. There are 4 Afterglow blushes, a bronzer and a highlighter each with a weight of 0.09 oz. A full size Afterglow blush is 0.23 oz, so roughly half the size. I was actually surprised when I looked up the sizes of each, I have one of the Afterglow blushes and the pan of the full size isn't really bigger than the pans in the palette.
The shades in the palette are -
- Cherry - Light pink satin
- Easy - Deep rose with gold shimmer
- Angel - Champagne-nude shimmer
- Hush - Medium pink with gold shimmer
- Lo-Fi - Soft bronze matte (bronzer)
- OC - Soft pink with peach shift (hilighter)
I swatched them in the order they are in the palette, Cherry, Easy, Angel, Lo-Fi, Hush and OC. You can barely see the pearlesant shift on OC but it is there in the bottem right corner! When I tried out the shades I used Lo-Fi, Hush, Easy and OC. They applied beautifully and blended as you would expect from Urban Decay, the only thing I did notice was there was some powder kick up when I touched them with my brush, but I also get that with my full size Afterglow blush. The shades lasted around 7-8 hours before they started to fade on me and even when they were starting to fade they seemed to fade evenly, not patchy. I think the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani would be a great addition to anyones makeup collection, especially if you are a fan of either! I am glad my sister let me try out her palette so I was able to pick up another blush palette that I will hopefully get up for you soon.
