I picked up the Essence Make Me Brow in 01 Blondy Brows, to see how it would compare to Benefit Gimme Brow. I am almost out of the Benefit and thought it would be a good time to try something new. The Essence Make Me Brow was a whooping $3.99 CAD for 0.12oz, where as the Benefit Gimme Brow is $30.00 CAD for 0.1oz! That is a huge difference in price, over $25.00 CAD, that's a big chunk of my beauty budget for the month. I have read quite a few good reviews on the Essence so decided to give it a try, for just under $4 I thought it was worth a shot.
The Essence Make Me Brow looks very similar to Benefits Gimme Brow, both are in a similarily colored tube and both have a nice small wand! I find that the small wand makes it so much easier to not make a mess, especially at the tail of my brows. I at first thought that the Essence was going to be to watery and not give me enough color but I was happy to be proven wrong!
In the swatch the Essence looks a lot warmer than Benefit, but I wore Essence on one brow and Benefit on the other and went to work like that! No one seemed to notice even when I pointed it out. I found that they both wore the same, I didn't end up with one brow gone halfway through the day. I will say that I was afraid that would happen and actually brought both gels to work with me just in case.
I have been using the Essence Make Me Brow for just about 2 weeks and I can say that I will be purchasing it again when it runs out. The shade Blondy Brow is a great shade for someone with pale brows that is just looking to add a hint of color and keep your brows in place for the day. If you are a regular user of Benefits Gimme Brow, or any other brow gel/mascara, I think that you may just like Essence Make Me Brow just as much. I was very surprised at how much I liked Essence Make me Brow, I always saw Essence as a brand for young kids, not something that would be able to stand up to higher end products. Having had such a great espereince with this Essence product makes me want to try out a few others now! Do you have a favorite Essence product that I should try out next? Let me know!
