I managed to receive my July Boxycharm before the end of the month! Boxycharm gave us plenty of notice that they would be holding off sending out, as well as charging us, the July box due to the uncertainty with Canada Post. Luckily for us Canada Post did not stop delivering the mail! Once my box was shipped it out it took about a week for it to get to me, not to bad. I actually got it on July 27. This is my second box from Boxycharm and I am impressed with what we received this month. This month's box was makeup heavy, for a beauty junkie that's a perfect box! I am not sure where they got the theme 'Modern Merbabe' though, to me with that theme I was kind of expecting waterproof or water themed colors. This box was neither of those.
OFRA Professional Magnetic Palette -
OFRA Professional Magnetic Palette ($59.00)- This professional magnetic palette made exclusively for BOXYCHARM comes equipped with a mix of shimmer and matte eye shadows that normally retail for $10 for each pan. This versatile formula can be applied dry for a subtle shading or damp for a more intense color. It is also hypoallergenic and suitable for even the most sensitive eye areas.
We received the shades Bohemian (Shimmer), Buttercup (Matte), Smoke (Matte), Iron (Shimmer), Truffle (Matte), and Millennium Gold (Shimmer). These shades are a great mix of neutrals that I am sure I will be able to do a few different eye looks with. When I swatched them they all swatched really well with the exception of Smoke, but I have had shadows that don't swatch the best (Mac) but apply completely different on the eyes.
I swatched the shadows in the order they are in the palette -
Noyah Lip Gloss -
Noyah Lip Gloss ($16.00)- A natural lip gloss made without sulfates, parabens, or phthalates. Packaging is composed of earth-friendly bamboo.
We received the Noyah Lip Gloss in the shade Malbec, which to me is a very bright pink! I am not sure if I will use this gloss or not. I am not usually much of a fan of gloss, don't like the sticky! The shade is also a fairly bright one for me.
Mally Beauty Rounded Blender Brush -
Mally Beauty Rounded Blender Brush ($15.00)- Designed for blending out eye shadows. With a rounded brush head and luxuriously soft bristles, it is shaped to apply the perfect amount of color every time!
I LOVE getting brushes in beauty boxes! Especially eye shadow brushes. This was an item that you could have either gotten the Brush or an Eye Liner, can you tell I am happy to have gotten the brush?!
PYT Hair Oil Treatment -
PYT Hair Oil Treatment ($30.00) - Penetrates the hair follicle and leaves hair frizz-free. It prevents split ends and creates instant shine without the oily residue. Safe for color treated hair.
This is the item I am least interested in. My hair is not prone to split ends nor is it dry. I think I will probably pass this one on to my daughter, I am sure she will enjoy it!
So far I have been quite impressed with Boxycharm, it is by far not the cheapest subscription box out there, but for me the value is there. Boxycharm costs $21.00 USD a month plus $5.00 shipping to Canada, with the exchange rate I pay approximately $35.00 CAD.
What do you think of the July Boxycharm - Modern Merbabe? Do you see where they got the theme from?
