I was contacted by Nail Polish Canada to see if I would be interested in trying out a new brand they recently started carrying, Vitry Nail Care. My nails have not been having the greatest time of it since my son had surgery back in June of last year. I have been doing daily dressing changes for months now and the product that we use to get the tape residue off also takes off nail polish! You can imagine just how my nails have been looking with using a product daily that can take off polish! Needless to say my nails have been peeling and breaking and just not looking great for awhile. I was quite happy to test out a nail treatment to see just how good it would be.
My nails have been in a sad state since the summer. They just keep peeling and splitting, so much so that I haven't felt like doing anything with them besides constantly cutting them and filing the torn edges.
I received the original Vitry Nail Repair Care Hardner, there is also a Sensitive formula. The directions for use are quite easy - Protect cuticles with a greasy film, such as Vitry's nourishing nail and cuticle oil. Apply the Nail Repair Care on previously cleaned and cleansed nails. Reapply every two days taking care of cleansing the nails between each application. Easy enough and what most nail treatments require!
The first picture is Day 1 of using Vitry Nail Repair Care Hardner, I'm not sure you can see just how lacklustre they are! This is about the longest I have been able to have my nails for months, if they get any longer I had been getting nicks out of them that catch on everything.
The second and third picture are 2 and 3 weeks after using Vitry! I think the pictures speak for themselves! The only thing I had changed about my hand/nail care is using the Vitry every other night. I did break my middle finger nail early in using the treatment, but it didn't peel! I have not been using the treatment every other day since the original test run, but have been putting it on at least once a week and my nails are still doing great. I haven't had my nails peel in a couple of months now and I am still doing the daily dressing changes with the dreaded sticky tape remover and my nails have held up just the same.
The cost of the Vitry Nail Care Hardener is $23.00 CAD on Nail Polish Canadas site, here. Personally, I definitely recommend this one, it is well worth the cost. I will be picking up another bottle when I finish the one I was sent. I have tried Nail Envy as well and I loved that one, but the Vitry has now taken over the top spot. If you have thin, peeling, brittle nails, give the Vitry a try!
