I was lucky enough to get sent several newer products for L'Oreal to try out as part of being in the Glam Sense program and thought I would give you a peek at them as well as my thoughts on the products after having used them for a bit. As with any line of products, there were some good and some not so good! If you are interested in seeing the products, with swatches, as well as my thoughts, keep reading!
I was sent 2 products from the Infallible line, Infallible Pro-Sweep & Lock powder and Infallible Pro-Last Waterproof Eyeliner. As well as the True Match Lumi Glotion, Brow Stylist Boost & Set, and a L'Oreal Colour Riche lipstick. I nice assortment of L'Oreal products ranging from prep to finishing. (Italic is straight from the L'Oreal website)
L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Sweep & Lock Translucent Setting Powder - Discover our pro-inspired translucent loose setting powder that locks in makeup and controls shine all day. The micro-fine loose powder formula blurs lines and pores for a smooth finish. Translucent powder makeup creates a soft focus, matte effect as it sets makeup.
I was hoping to be able to use this powder as an all over face powder, but it just wasn't meant to be for me! Whenever I tried to use it all over my face it just seemed to settle into my pores, no matter how much I tried to buff it out, I still had cartoon face! But it does work well as an under eye setting powder! I have been using it with a damp mini blender to apply it to my under eye area and letting it 'bake' for a few minutes while I do my eyebrows and than I just brush away the excess and it does seem to be helping my concealer stay in place and not settle to much into lines. For the $14.96 CAD, at Walmart, price I was kind of hoping for more.
L'Oreal Colour Riche Shine Lipstick in 916 Luminous Coral - Ultra-rich, ultra-radiant lipstick with glossy finish. Oil-infused formula for comfortable wear. In just one stroke, experience a hydrating and lasting shine effect, with rich colour pay-off.
I was a little hesitant about this shade when I first saw it, it looks so bright, it appears quite far off of my neutral leaning ways. But I was pleasantly surprised by it, one swipe on my lips gives me just a hint of the Coral shade with a lot of shine. For me it is a very wearable shade of Coral worn that way. It can be built up to more pigment, but that isn't something I am comfortable with right now. It is a traditional lipstick formula so it is by far not going to last you for the whole day, but it also doesn't claim to. It was very comfortable to wear, never feeling like it was drying out my lips at all. I did have to re-apply throughout the day, every few hours or so depending on what I was eating/drinking. I didn't mind re-applying though as it was comfortable on the lips and I actually really liked the sheerer shade I was able to get. I can see the shade 916 Luminous Coral being worn quite a bit during the warmer months, which hopefully is finally starting?! The L'Oreal Colour Riche Shine lipsticks are $10.96 CAD which is getting up there for the drugstore, but I actually think these are worth it. Especially since they can be either sheer or more opaque, at least Luminous Coral can be.
L'Oreal True Match Lumi Glotion Natural Glow Enhancer in 901 Fair Glow - L’Oréal Paris True Match® LUMI Glotion instantly hydrates and luminizies skin for an all-over, fresh, natural glow. The highlighting formula delivers an illuminating color tint to enhance your skin’s natural skin glow for a healthier, brighter complexion. True Match® Lumi glow lotion formula is infused with Glycerin for all day continuous hydration.
For me and my combo skin this didn't work out the best used as a primer, I found my t-zone ended up getting way to 'glow-y' by mid-day, in other words I looked like an oil slick! So than I tried using it as a hi lighter on my cheeks. I found that when I tried to use it with a sponge it seemed to be lifting off my foundation, not what I was looking for! I did find that if I used my fingertips it worked a lot better that way. I really like the glow it gives when I use it with my fingertips on the tops of my cheeks. It gave a soft glow without glitter and didnt accentuate my pores. You are getting 1.35oz for $13.96 CAD, which if you use it as a liquid highlighter will last you forever! For me, I won't be rushing out to purchase the Glotion, it just is to finicky for me.
L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Last Waterproof pencil Eyeliner in 970 Purple - L'Oréal Paris introduces Infallible Pro-Last waterproof pencil eyeliner. This pencil eyeliner glides on easily for rich, smudge-resistant color that lasts. Up to 24hr wear. Suitable for waterline usage. Ophthalmologist tested.
I was actually expecting this to be more vibrant than it was. It actually just ends up being a hint of colour whenever I used it. You could barely tell that I was wearing a coloured liner! As to the claims of this being waterproof, I didn't really get to test that part out. But on the days I was testing this, there was some purple left when I removed my eye makeup at the end of the day. The liner is nice and soft but didnt crumble when I applied it, it also didnt tug on my eyelids which is always a good thing. I may pick up another shade of this, once I get through some of what I already have. For the $9.96 CAD price, at Walmart. it is worth giving a shot if you are in the market for a new liner.
L'Oreal Brow Stylist Boost & Set in 470 Blonde - The art of brow made easy. Our 1st gel mousse formula easily glides onto brows to boost volume and set for a natural to thicker look. Designed with an angled skinny brush to style brow hairs and for precise application. All day wear. Ophthalmologist tested. Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
I was a tad hesitant when I first opened up the brow gel! The spoollie is so long and skinny, I figured It was just going to make a huge mess. Luckily for me, it doesn't. The spoolie brush actually worked well for me, I do have fuller brows though, thanks for not being to into makeup in the 90s! so my brows never went to the thin stage. The length of the spoolie brush worked great for the start of my brows, being able to get the whole front in almost 1 swipe! The thinness of the spool brush also worked great for the tail, it was thin enough that I didn't have to be to careful at the thinnish point of my brows. The only issue I found with it was that when you take the spoolie out of the tube you do have to wipe of the excess, of which there was a lot! The Blonde shade is a great match for my dark blonde haircolor to. At $10.96 CAD, I can see myself picking up this one again.
Out of the 5 products I received, I would and probably will pick up 2 of them. The 2 are the Colour Riche Shine Lipstick and the Brow Stylist Boost & Set. I may pick up another Infallible Pro-Last liner in another shade to try out and see how it does, I just couldn't try out the lasting power in the waterline with a purple liner, especially one that was not that deep of a shade. The Lumi Glotion only works for me with my fingers and only as a highlighter so with the size of the tube, I doubt I will ever get through it. The Infallible Pro-Sweep & Lock was probably the biggest disappointment for me. I hate it when anything gives my face the cartoon look, I would rather have a powder that I can use on both my underage area as well as my face.
Have you tried out any of these newer L'Oreal products? What did you think of them? Any hints on different uses for them? Let me know!
I was sent these products by Glam Sense for free in exchange for my honest review.
