My April ‘Peace, Love & Boxy’ Boxy Charm came right in the middle of the month of April this time, much better than the March box! Hopefully that means they fixed whatever issue they had last month that made most of the boxes late.
The theme for the month of April 2019 appears to be Festival themed. All the products I received would be great if you were going to a festival or anywhere fun for the upcoming warmer months. I received 4 color makeup products and a set of brushes this month, no skincare.
I received variation 3 this month, I have read that some people had received vacation 25! Not to sure how I feel about so many variations, I almost liked it when everyone got the same products just different shades. I am quite happy with the variation I got though, love the lipstick shade! I could have done without the liner though
PUR The Complexion Authority - Festival Palette - Unleash the ultimate festival vibes with this limited-edition, 12-piece pressed pigment palette that’s complete with bold, imaginative pigments that elevate your look for any occasion. From boho inspired metallics, to eye catching glitters, each cruelty-free shade is infused with skin-loving ingredients. Retail $36.00 USD.
I have used this palette a couple of times already and the formula of this one is close to the Soiree Diaries palette I got awhile back from Boxy Charm, I love that palette! I was able to get an everyday neutral look out of this palette which I was happy about. The shades for the most part all swatched well so I was happy when that translated to working well on my eyes as well. I am not sure if or when I will use those 2 glitter shades butt it is nice to have the option.
The shades in the PUR The Complexion Authority Festival Palette are - Free Spirit (iridescent white gold with silver flecks), Psychedelic (metallic gold), Good Vibes (metallic copper), Peace (metallic bronze), Epic (matte pastel peach), Gypsy (satin electric purple), Wild Child (matte neon pink), 24k Magic (glitter gold), All Night (dark chocolate brown), Hidden Desert (matte cinnamon brown), Sunset (coral shimmer pink), and Fireworks (glitter ruby red with gold flecks).
Luxie - The Summer Daze 3pc Brush Set - The Luxie Summer Daze 3 piece brush set was curated for the perfect festival look that will last all day. Use the Luxie 512 Small Contouring brush to sculpt and define your cheekbones while the Luxe 245 Small Shader brush is perfect to pat on your base shadow and glitter. Grab the Luxe 209 Large Shader brush to pat on and blend out any eye look. Retail $28.00 USD.
I love getting brushes in my Boxy Charm! And lucky for me, Boxy Charm seems to give me a few new brushes most months. The Summer Daze 3pc set comes with 3 fairly different brushes; 1 for face, 1 for eyes, and 1 that could be used for a few different areas. All the Luxe brushes I have, have all washed up great and hold their shape well, I haven’t had any shedding issues with them either. Here’s hoping the trend continues with this 3pc set.
Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder - Summer Daze - This all-natural, vegan, and cruelty free loose Powder highlight can be used on the eyes, lips, face and body. The versatile formula is highly pigmented and suitable for all skin tones! Create a subtle luminous finish or layer on for an unreal glow! Retail $27.00 USD.
The shade I received, Summer Haze, is described as ‘a light champagne pink base with shimmering multicolored pearls’. I have received another Artist Couture Diamond Glow powder before and I ended up giving it away. I am not the biggest fan of loose highlighters, hence why I didn’t open this one to swatch it for you. I will probably end up giving this one away as well.
Kristofer Buckle - Cashmere Slip Longer Lipstick - Bardot - Full impact color. Cashmere Slip is a creamy, richly pigmented lipstick that delivers bold color for up to 8 hours. Easy to apple, this luxurious formula glides on smooth and wears comfortably. Retail $18.00 USD.
The shade Bardot is a pinky nude that I love. This is a shade I will wear a lot! I have been wearing it all week and I have to say the shade is a great pinky nude on me, a hair darker than I am used to but I have been loving it. This lipstick glides on and stays on for quite awhile, almost a full workday. It also leaves behind a slight stain and I think that is what helps with the lasting power.
Starlooks - Ultra-Gem Longer Eye Pencil - Celestial - The intensely pigmented formula in your new Starlooks Cosmic Ultra-Gem Longwear Eye Pencil delivers a beautiful color that lasts all day. The easy to extend and retract pen makes application and continues use seamlessly easy, without ever having to use a pencil sharpener. Retail $19.00 USD.
When I first saw the shade of this I was thinking that maybe a light green liner might be fun to try, until I tried swatching it. This pencil is very dry and takes quite a bit of pressure to get some pigment happening. I am not so sure that I will use this on my eyes at all, aging eyes and tugging do not go well together.
My April 2019 Peace, Love & Boxy Boxy Charm had a retail value of $128.00 USD. As I have said many times before, Boxy Charm is well worth the price for a surprise box. You get 4-5 Full-Size products every month for $21.00 USD plus $5.00 shipping, which works out to $35ish CAD after exchange and shipping. I have been getting Boxy Charm for over 2 years now and don’t think I have ever gotten a box with under $100 USD retail value. Like with any surprise box, you may not like or use everything you receive. I have been lucky enough to like most of the products I have received in my Boxy Charms, I at least like products that cover the price of the box. The lipstick I received this month is in a shade that I will definitely get use out of and the eye shadow palette looks fun as well as useable for everyday.
