I still have Boxy Luxe so that is the box I got for the month of March. It came in really late though, I received my box the last week in March. Boxy Luxe does cost more than the regular box, $50ish USD, I think I paid almost $80 CAD for the March one, but you do get 8-10 full size items that is supposed to be worth $300+USD. If you want to see what I got in my March 2019 ‘la vie en rose’ Boxy Luxe keep reading.
The theme for the March 2019 Boxycharm was ‘la vie en rose’, which means ‘life in pink’ in French. I took that the mean that products would be pink themed, which is about half right!
As you can see from the above picture, I received another decent assortment of products in my March 2019 Boxy Luxe. I received skincare, makeup, brushes, nails and even a makeup train case. Not bad in my opinion. March was supposed to be the first month were Boxycharm took into account answers to a survey that they ask you to complete, keep reading to see if I was lucky enough to get products more suited to my tastes.
Coverfx - Perfector Face Palette - Six must- have complexion essentials in one travel-friendly palette. The talc-free formula provides seamless blending and flawless application. Sculpt with contour, blush it up and illuminate with two shimmering highlighters. Find your perfect finish with the brightener and finishing powder for a glowing, multidimensional look anywhere and everywhere you go. Retail $45.00 USD.
I haven’t tried a lot from Coverfx and am looking forward to trying out this face palette. I received the Face palette in the shade light which is the one I was hoping for. You get 2 highlighters, Brightner, Contour, Blush and a Finishing Powder all in one palette. In the pan the Finishing Powder looks like it has shimmer, but in the swatch it didn’t show up that much.
I got the shade names from Sephora, which if you are interested is on the site for $57.00 CAD-
Highlight in Starlight - more of a gold-y shade, I think this might be good in the summer for me if I happen to get some colour.
Brightner in Moonbeam - a fairly white shade, not to sure were I am going to use this! Definitely not for my undereyes.
Highlight in Divine - a nice lighter peachy shade, this one looks like it will work for my skin tone now.
Contour in Silhouette - a little on the warmer side of things, but nice and matte.
Finishing Powder in Stellar - here’s hoping when I use it on my face the shimmer you see in the pan doesn’t show up much on my face!
Blush in Sublime - a fairly bright shade, but I think it will give a nice shade on the cheeks
Moda Brushes - Powder and Soft Glow Kit - Your new Moda 2-piece Powder and Soft Glow kit is the ultimate dynamic duo. The two brushes were designed to give you your desired look. The elegant rose tapered handles and two-toned synthetic brush hair set the perfect addition to your brush collection. Retail $29.00 USD.
If you have been around here for any amount of time, you will know that I love getting brushes! This set is not only beautiful to look at, they are really soft as well. The powder one is more of a medium density, I think it will work out great for either all over powder or even blush. The highlight brush is very floppy, so I think it will work out great if you like more of a softer highlight application.
Iconic - Eyebrow Cushion - Give your brows the wow they deserve with Iconic’s Sculpt & Boost Eyebrow Cushion. The innovative two-shade liquid brow compact allows for fuller-looking brows with half of the effort. The highly pigmented liquid formula glides on effortlessly, while the angled brush makes for precise application each time. Retail $40.00 USD.
As you can see I didn’t open this one up to swatch, the pictures I have seen online make me think that this will be way to dark for me. I am trying to find some pictures of someone closer to my colouring to see if it will work at all, if not I will probably do a giveaway for it. Would you be interested in winning this?
Wander Beauty - Lift Off Purifying And Brightening Peel Off Mask - Containing a blend of skin loving acai, goji berry, blueberry, lychee, mangosteen and green tea leaf extracts, the Wander Beauty Lift Off Purifying and Brightening Peel Off Mask instantly purifies and replenishes dull skin. Excess oil and impurities are drawn out and absorbed by kaolin clay, minimizing the appearance of enlarged pores. This rose gold, skin saving, peel off mask dries quickly and peels off effortlessly, revealing a smoother, clearer and brighter complexion. Retail $34.00 USD.
Again I haven’t opened this one up, I have way to many masks that need to be tried out first before I open a new one. I have seen when this is applied it is a a rose gold colour. I have also seen that some people are having a hard time getting this off of their whole face so when I do try it I may just use it in the t-zone.
Lilly Lashes - Exclusive Faux Mink Gaia Lashes - Add volume, length and drama to your lashes with your new, Limited Edition Faux Mink Gaia pair of Lilly Lashes. The winged style, cruelty free lashes are durable enough to give you up to 20 wears. Retail $24.99 USD.
Another set of lashes… I still haven’t used up any of the lashes I have gotten. These ones are fairly long and more on the dramatic side of things. Probably another giveaway item!
It Cosmetics - Confidence In A Cream Transforming Moisturizing Super Cream - Developed with plastic surgeons, Confidence in a Cream is your new, #1 anti-aging moisturizer! Perfect for all skin types, even the most sensitive, this quick-absorbing super cream immerses your skin in moisture, restores visible radiance, reduces the look of pores, discoloration, lines and wrinkles and improves the look of firmness. you’ll see powerful results instantly and more dramatic results over time! Retail $48.00 USD.
I have been interested in trying out the It Cosmetics face cream so I am happy to have gotten this one in my Boxyluxe. I will hopefully be giving this one a try soon, once again I have a few more that I need to try out first.
Becca - Ultimate Lipstick Love in Taupe - A moisturizing, 8-hour longwearing silky satin lip color infused with the next generation of hyaluronic acid. Retail $24.00 USD.
A new release! The Becca Ultimate Love Lipsticks recently launched for Becca so I was really happy to be getting one to try out. The shade I received is Taupe which is described as a neutral cinnamon. I can definitely agree with that description. It is a little darker of a nude shade than I am used to but I still think I will get some wear out of it.
Morphe - 15-Shade Artistry Palette in 15N Night Master - Indulge in infinite eye looks. This mirrored palette features 15 crazy-creamy, powerfully pigmented shades, so you can mix, match and blend the rules. Retail $16.00 USD.
Not going to lie, I was kind of hoping for the brunch date palette. This palette is a nice mix of darker neutral shades, I am just not one to go for a dark smokey eye look. I think I will be able to get some day work appropriate looks from it, but they will run to the warmer side of things.
The shades in the Morphe 15N-Night Master palette are - Custom(matte cool biscuit), Unique(golden glitz), Selfie(matte terracotta), Talent(copper shimmer), Shook(matte burnt clay), Va Va Voom(mulled wine), Illustrated(pale plum sheen), Goals(matte russet brown), Editorial(matte bark brown), Creativity(pink champagne), Scene(matte black currant), Cliché(matte vintage merlot), Excuse Me(eggplant sheen), Hello(matte mink), and Craze(mauve taupe shimmer).
The shade descriptions from the Morphe site seem to be fairly accurate. None of the shades wowed me, neither did they swatch badly, so here is hoping it is a good palette.
Deborah Lippmann - O’Donna and Modern Love - The dual-patented formula in your new Deborah Lippmann 2-piecew set lets you bring the nail salon home. The 10 active ingredients help deliver health, shine and long wear to your nails giving you the effects of gel polish without the damage. Retail $20.00 USD.
I was really happy to see that I got the Deborah Lippmann polishes! The shades O’Donna and Modern Love are the type of shades that I love to wear so I can definitely see me getting some use out of these. The shade Modern Love is described as ‘modern classic mauve cream’, a beautiful neutral mauve! The shade O’Donna is described as ‘mocha with rose gold shimmer’, I think it will look great either paired with Modern Love or on its own.
Boxycharm - Traincase - Just another perk of being a charmer. This exclusive BoxyCharm Cosmetics case is not only extremely chic, but very spacious and perfect for the Charmer who has to take their glam on the go. Retail $20.00 USD.
The train case is a a great size as you can see, I can fit everything I received in my March Boxyluxe inside of it! It would be great for packing up makeup for a trip. My granddaughter loves it so I think she will be getting it for her Barbies and clothes.
The March ‘la vie en rose’ Boxy Luxe had a retail value of $301.98 USD, which is fairly decent. With the exchange rate I paid around $80.00 CAD. I do think that it is worth it, even though there are a few things that I probably won’t use.
The March Boxy Luxe came in really late, not just for us Canadians but I did see that people in the US didnt get theirs much before most of us got ours. March was supposed to be the first month of Boxy using the survey to better match the products to what we filled out. For me they ended up getting the Coverfx and polish in shades that matched my survey. The lashes I had put on the bottom of the list of things I would use. The Morphe palette is not in shades that matched me, I picked neutral everyday. I can’t say much about the Iconic brow cushion, there was only the one shade option. I am hoping that Aprils box is better suited to my answers. I am starting to think that I may cancel my Boxy Charm subscription soon, I have an awful lot of makeup and skincare to get through! I may give it a few more months though to see if they finish working out the kinks of starting to tailor the boxes to peoples preferences from the survey.
