My May 2019 ‘Make Waves’ Boxy Charm came in last Tuesday, right around the middle of the month. I was excited as usual to see just what I ended up getting in my box this month as there were so many variations again for this month.
I think the theme for the May 2019 Boxy Charm, Make Waves, are products to get you ready for the warmer months to come. The products I received, especially the Blush Palette, are products that do make me think of the warmer temperatures to come.
In my May 2019 ‘Make Waves’ Boxy Charm I again received a nice mix of products, 4 makeup and 1 skincare item. I received version 1, I think I heard there were 13+ versions this month? I was lucky to have received the version I was hoping for this month.
Glamglow - Gentlebubble Cleanser - Gentle, but make it bubbly! This daily conditioning gel cleanser gently but effectively cleanses skin and dissolves makeup. Oat amino acids condition while the vegan formula with apple extract, vitamin E and green tea extract bubbles up to deep clean and remove impurities. Soap, fragrance and SLS/SLES-free. All skin types-approved. Retail $28.00 USD.
The Glamglow cleanser was an either or item, the other option was a FAB moisturizer, I was hoping to get the cleanser! I have a combo skin and think that the FAB moisturizer would have been just a little to heavy for me for the warmer months, not to mention I have ALOT of moisturizer to get through right now. Looking forward to eventually trying this one out.
Alamar - Colorete Blush Trio - Get your blush on with your new Alamar Cosmetics Colorete Blush Trio. Formulated to glide effortlessly over your cheeks, this buttery smooth, highly pigmented & completely vegan formula delivers a sun-kissed flush without the damage of the rays. Retail $22.00 USD.
Glad that I got the light version of the blush trio, Boxy followed my profile for this one. I’m not to sure about the first shade, it’s fairly orange! I love the middle shade, the only matte shade in the palette and can see myself wearing it quite a bit. All the shades searched very well, they appear to be very pigmented.
Ciaté London - Eye Lustre Crème Eyeshadow - Your new Coat London’s Eye Lustre will help you create long-lasting, shimmering eye shadow looks. The metallic, glittering liquid shadow can be swiped on for full coverage lustre, blended out for sheer sparkle or applied over any eyeshadow as a topper. Retail $22.00 USD.
I believe that everyone got the Ciaté eyeshadow, wither in the shade I received, Cupid, or the shade Icy. I like using a shimmery shade on my lid and am hoping that this is a good one. As you can see in the swatch I did, when I blended it out it was basically glitter.
Dose Of Colors - Liquid Matte Lipsticks - Your new Dose of COlors Liquid Matte Lipstick has a velvety, high-fashion matte finish which envelops lips in rich, long-wearing color. It applies as a creamy liquid, but after a few minutes it dries to an ultra comfortable matte finish. Retail $18.00 USD.
I was really hoping to get the Dose of Colors lipstick, I just wish I had gotten a shade I would wear. Boxy did not follow my profile with this item, red was my last choice in ranking. I didn’t swatch this one as I am still deciding if I will try it out or not, I am not that into bold lips.
Bodyography - Eyeliner Pencil - This vegan, cruelty free Bodyography Lip Pencil is antioxidant rich, infused with coconut oil and vitamin E. The smooth yet long-wearing formula glides on effortlessly, delivering durable pigment that can frame, fill in and define the lips. Retail $14.00 USD.
I think they got the description a little wrong, they called it a lip pencil in the description! I don’t think I have tried anything from Bodyography before but I do like this shade. It’s not my usual type of shade, brown!, but I think it may be fun to try out for the warmer months for slight pop of color. This liner seemed a bit softer than last months liner so here’s hoping I can use this one easier!
My May 2019 ‘Make Waves’ Boxy Charm had a retail value of $104.00 USD, which is one of the lower values I have gotten. I still think it was well worth the price of $35.00ish CAD that I pay each month, I will use most of the products in the box. The only product I am unsure if I will use or not is the Dose liquid lipstick, and that is only due to the shade I received.
Is there a product here that you would like to see a review on? Let me know.
